Norpro’s team of Health & Safety and Industrial Hygiene specialists have years of experience delivering training material within organizations, at public conferences and via online platforms. Norpro has developed a suite of general safety and hygiene training packages that are available to be delivered at your company site, as well as having the ability to develop specific training packages to meet your company’s needs.

Confined Space Training

Compliant with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and O.Reg. 632/05

Program Content:
  • Applicable legal requirements
  • Definitions
  • Related hazards

  • Assessment and control options
  • Monitoring requirements and strategies
  • Entry program requirements including permits and defined procedures.

Program Evaluation: 75% competency component.

Selection, Use and Care of Respirators

Compliant with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and O.Reg. 833 and 490/09 Training to be provided to respirator users immediately following the completion of their fit test and will include:

  • Instruction on the practical use and care of respirators
  • Limitations of use
  • Repair and maintenance requirements.

*If required, the training can be amended to include provisions from the clients Respiratory Protection Program (roles and responsibilities, respiratory hazards in the workplace, respirator selection etc.). The training provided will assist the employer in maintaining compliance with Ontario Regulation 833: Control of Exposure to Biological or Chemical Agents as Section 9(3) and (4) outline the requirements for providing respirator users with training on the use and care of a respirator prior to its first use.

Program evaluation: 75% competency component.

Supervisor/Due Diligence

Meets and exceeds requirements of O.Reg. 297/13

Program content:
  • The foundation of Health and Safety in Ontario
  • Legal responsibilities of all workplace parties
  • Legislation review of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • Dangerous atmospheres
  • Guided practical with the “green book” allows participants to maneuver and locate specific sections of legislation, offering them support to feel more confident with this aspect of their job.
  • Review of Internal Responsibility System (IRS) and how a supervisor’s actions can support or break it down.
  • Due diligence: what it is, methods in the workplace and how to prove it – through verification and documentation.

*This program is a full-day course, including case studies and both multiple group and individual exercises. The focus of the training is to build on the skills required to effectively carry out the functions of a Supervisor.

Program evaluation: 75% competency component.

Incident Investigations

Compliant with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and O.Reg 420/21

Program content:
  • Legislation review.
  • Legal responsibilities of all workplace parties.
  • Steps for conducting an effective investigation.
  • Reporting and notification requirements.
  • Forms and templates to assist.

Program Evaluation: 75% competency component.
